YouTuber Ethan Klein from h3h3Productions has accused YouTube star James Charles of Plagiarism.
Ethan Klein took this issue to Twitter on 18 September 2020. Where he accused James Charles of Plagiarizing the Teddy Fresh design in his new merch. let us first give you a brief about Teddy Fresh. Teddy Fresh is a clothing company founded by Youtuber Hila Klein, wife of Ethan Edward Klein. It has been in business since 2017. Twitter broke when James Charles scandal youtube again rose to the news, Klein went on posting a brief of accusing James of plagiarizing his wife’s design saying they are having a hard time with James’ new merch as it is the same design as Teddy Fresh.
He further said that since James has a bigger audience than them, people might start to accuse them of stealing his idea. He posted some screenshots in the tweet as well showing the similarities between the design.
In another tweet, he mentioned that it could be a total coincidence but the color schemes in the second design are pretty similar too. His wife posted sketches of color block hoodies from 2017.
In response to Ethan’s tweet James tweeted out that when he messaged James on 17 September about the plagiarism, he sent Ethan the original inspiration of his collection and said he has never seen his brand. James further mentioned that he asked Ethan what he wants James to do about the issue, for which he didn’t reply. James Charles scandal on YouTube has always been an issue in his growth in the community, he stated that he doesn’t want to get into another drama after last year’s drama so he has decided to keep conversations private and create solutions. Last year James was involved in an Internet drama with Tati Westbroke which almost ruined his career.
James further said if Ethan would like to continue their talk and find a solution, his DMs are still open! To which Ethan replied, he allows James to share their conversation. He said in the tweet that after he first messaged James about the issue James told him that he is still going to sell them. He accused J. Charles of him admitting to the fact that the similarity wasn’t a coincidence. He said he DM’d James to keep the issue in private but his response was combative and dismissive.
Now fans are having mixed opinions about this, according to some people the color scheme is really common and can be easily be found on the internet. Whereas some say that the color block designs could be common but James has literally taken the same color scheme as Teddy Fresh. I personally couldn’t make an opinion about it as Looking at James’ past records he definitely had been surrounded with drama but this could not be the reason of accusing him, but on the other hand, Ethan did mention that he wanted to keep this private and allows James to upfront the convo, I mean only a person who is confident that he hasn’t done anything wrong could do so I guess, but I don’t know it could be anything.
