The Kapil Sharma show actress Sumona Chakravarti’s old tweet about nepotism is trending again.
You might have heard about nepotism and the outsider not getting work in Bollywood these days. The topic is trending a lot after the death of Chichore actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Many people are coming out with their stories of being harassed and not being able to get into the Bollywood because they are not a product of nepotism, their parents or brother, sister are not a big name in the showbiz, or because they are television actor/ actress. Now an old tweet of Kapil Sharma show actress Sumona Chakravarti is trending.
In the tweet, she has talked about not getting work in Bollywood or being rejected through directors because she is from television. This was a year before the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She told her fans on Twitter the outlook and attitude towards TV actors have always been bad. She stated that from stylists saying that the designers don’t want a TV actor to wear their clothes to big names not even giving them the opportunity to audition for a film or now web shows, everyone is into this. She said TV actors have been pitted against unsuccessful film actor.
She further took her own story to the public explaining that many times her name has been turned down against unknown film actors because she is from television. She raged at Bollywood saying we all know the Bitter Truth about the Bollywood its all about either Nepotism or Casting Couch. She said TV actors are hard-working even without having big names to add by there, they make the best out of what they have.
She further stated that there are exceptions of people from TV getting into Bollywood but the ratio is very low. She went on to say that an artist is an artist, irrespective of the medium. An actor does a show for years, seasons after seasons, and dabble with other mediums depending on the opportunity presented to them, with these lines she ended her tweet.
Her tweet and other coming out with such stories show how Bollywood has corrupt routes. And Sushant might have fallen into this pit and wasn’t able to take himself out of it. It is still a mystery if Sushant was murdered or he committed suicide, but one thing that’s clear as glass is Bollywood has never been acceptant towards outsiders and has been taking advantage of the people coming there with big dreams.
