Description
The science fiction adventure film is based on Ernest Cline’s 2011 novel Ready Player One. It is produced by Donald De Line, Kristie Macosko Kriege, Steven Spielberg, Dan Farah.

Plot
The movie takes place in 2045, when the real world has become a harsh place and people only feel alive in a virtual universe called OASIS. The film revolves around Wade Watts, a normal guy who lives with his aunt (mother’s sister) and her boyfriend after the death of his parents. The OASIS was created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday, who left his immense fortune and total control of the Oasis to the winner of a three-part contest he designed to find a worthy heir. As Wade goes in the journey to find the keys he finds some bad news for the Virtual universe and is trying to save it.

• Did you know, Parzival aka Wade’s belt in the Oasis has the Thundercats (1985) logo on it? The belt itself is the same style as Han Solos. |
• The Zemeckis Cube in the film is named after director Robert Zemeckis. In the scene, when the cube is activated by Parzival, music plays in the background, which is from the Back to the Future (1985) trilogy, directed by Zemeckis. |

• The name of the virtual universe, Oasis is actually an acronym. Its full form is Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation. The fact is mentioned in Ernest Cline’s source novel but not mentioned in the film. |
• This fact actually amused me, the scene where Halliday and Morrow are talking about Halliday’ date with Kira, his monitor shows that he is working on the build of Room 237 of The Shining (1980). |
