Description
This is the sixth chapter in the Conjuring Universe franchise. It is based on the Latin American folklore of La Llorona or Weeping Women. The story is written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis.
Plot
The story is about a mother trying to save her daughter and son from the torment and menace of La Llorona, a bad spirit that captures children and drown them in river.
• The film caused children in the audience at a theater in Montreal, Quebec to run out crying when this film played instead of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019) after the trailers for Annabelle Comes Home (2019), Joker (2019) and Child’s Play (2019) were featured.
• It is noted to be the second movie in the Conjuring Universe to not mark, Ed and Lorraine Warren.
• It is the lowest grossing movie in The Conjuring Universe, with not very good reviews from critics.
• La Llorona is a Spanish word and the title is translated in English to The Curse of the Weeping Woman.
• Annabelle (2014) was the second installment in the Conjuring Universe franchise. Tony Amendola, who was in the role of Father Perez in Annabelle was seen reprising the same role in this movie.
⇒ Have you watched the film yet? If not I would suggest to go ahead with it. It surely won’t make you cry like the children at some theater in Montreal, Quebec but will certainly give you chills!
