Description
The movie is based on a South Korean horror movie titled A Tale of Two Sisters, written by Kim Jee-woon. The Korean movie was persuaded from a Joseon Dynasty era (Korean) folktale Janghwa Hongryeon jeon. The Uninvited comes from the producers (Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald) of hit horror film The Ring. It has received mixed reviews from critics.

Plot
The movie follows a character named Anna who was admitted to a mental institution for ten months when she tries to commit suicide after the tragic death of her mother by fire. She comes back home and finds her mother’ caretaker is now her father’ girlfriend. Though she is happy to see her sister Alex, she suffers from nightmares and paranormal experiences. Anna starts having a doubt about her stepmother and shares it with Alex. Both the sister now starts gathering evidence against Rachel (stepmother) to prove that she has killed their mother. It takes many twists and turns further in the story and at the end Anna finds the truth about the fire that killed her mother.

Facts
• The movies initially was supposed to have the same title as the original film A Tale of Two Sisters. |
• This fact totally had me. The lead role Anna was played by Emily Browning who originally auditioned for the role of Alex, the older sister of her character. But coincidentally the same thing happened with the original film A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) where Soo-jung Lim initially auditioned for the other sister Soo-yeon. |
• Emily was 18 years old at the time she was shooting for the film but her character Anna was supposed to be 14-15. |
| • It was the last theatrical film of Don S. Davis’ (who played police officer Mr. Henson in the film), before his death. |
• Camera angles has made an illusion in the film that Elizabeth Banks (Rachel) was several inches taller than Emily Browning (Anna), though in reality, she is two inches shorter. |
