These Movie Sequels Will Surely Get You Hyped
Don’t we all get sad and wait to know the next event after we complete watching a film. And the news of its next part excites every bit of your heart. Here is a list of film sequels you never knew were being made.
Avatar 2
Since the first movie released, the director has been talking about the installments of the film, which actually never appeared to actually come to sight. James Cameron states that four of the avatar movie sequels will be dropped in the few upcoming years. According to sources, two of the next installments have already been filmed. Their titles are surfacing the internet that are Avatar 2: The Way of Water, Avatar 3: The Seed Bearer, Avatar 4 : The Tulkun Rider and Avatar 5 : The Quest for Eywa.
The Suicide Squad
The original film Suicide Squad received negative reviews by critics and faced some backlash, but was definitely loved by few of the viewers. The sequel appears to be a major concern for Warner Bros Company, as they provided the charge of the film to Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn. The sequel was titled as Suicide Squad 2 in the beginning, but changed to The Suicide Squad as the filming evolved. The next film is set to release in August 2021 and is made with the hope to fix the issues not liked by the critics.
Sherlock Holmes 3
Robert Downey, Jr.’ commitment to Iron Man’ character might have kept him from giving time to the Sherlock Holmes series, but a 3rd part was always the part of plan for the company Warner Bros. As the Downey’ character has seemingly exited the Marvel Universe for good, he is likely to team up with Watson to solve one more case in near future. The film might be hitting the theaters in December 2021.
Robocop Returns
The franchise has given two other RoboCop films. The line include are RoboCop 2 in 1990, RoboCop 3 in 1993 and RoboCop in 2014. This film will be a direct sequel to the original 1987 RoboCop, ignoring the sequels and the remake. Sources suggest the script of this film will be based on the original story from the writers of the 1987 film, Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner. The news was surfacing the media that Neill Blomkamp will be directing the film. But reportedly he deported the project because of scheduling conflicts. Abe Forsythe is now set to direct the film.
Bando/ Train to Busan 2
Train to Busan was critically acclaimed blockbuster and its fans desperately seek its sequel. The hungry zombies and fast train story line with a father and daughter duo has definitely touched hearts of many. The director Yeon Sang-ho is working on its sequel. I personally loved the movie a lot and the good news for me and fans like me, is the movie will hit the theaters in the summer of 2020. Train to Busan 2 will be supposedly titled Bando and the English title can be Peninsula.
The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes
After the huge success of hunger games books and films its seems we can’t get enough of the world in those stories. In 2019, the publisher of the book announced another book by Suzanne Collins which will come to the market in May 2020. It will be a prequel to all the films set 64 years ago the other books’ stories and will focus on the 10th hunger games. With the confirmation of the book it was also concluded that the prequel will also be having a film. And according to the studio who adapted the books into film version have said to be in touch with the writer and is likely to work on more films by her.
The Expendables 4
The third installment received negative reviews from critics and not a very prominent scores on Rotten Tomatoes. The Expendables franchise has planned a next volume will according to Stallone will be the last in the series. In 2017, due to disagreements, Sylvester Stallone was announced to leave the film. Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that he will be not be returning to the film without Stallone. The film was originally set for a 2018 release date which certainly did not happened. In the beginning of 2018, Stallone made it clear that he will be returning to the film. The released date is not yet confirmed but they will surely be coming with a bang.
The Matrix 4
After years of speculations that the 4th part of Matrix was in development, the franchise announced in August 2019 that Matrix 4 was indeed going to happen. There were many rumors about the story following a new character, which happens to be not true. The original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will be seen in the film reprising their roles. No plot is yet known by to surface the internet but sources suggests the film will release in May 2021
Alien: Awakening
As the second movie did not performed too well on the box office, the future of the franchise was thrown away but according to the director the third prequel is on its way. Some sources say that the movie will not be following the original format of the Alien films as the director saw the need to the films to evolve in order to gain success. In Scotts’ words “You can keep repeating (the premise) because the joke gets boring.”
Indiana Jones 5
After the backlashes the fourth film has received, the next installment was not really expected, but the sources suggest that the director has not given up on the film and even after so many push-backs and delay, the 5th part is likely to be released in 2021. Its plot is not yet known by the internet and as the writer said in 2019 that they are working on the script again and still trying. David further said they have got a good idea this time. I guess it probably has a long way to go before it hits theater.
Kill Bill: Vol. 3
According to Quentin Tarantino, the third volume will be focusing on the daughter of Vernita Green, who wreaks vengeance from the murderer. The daughter Nikki Bell might be played by Zendaya. Although nothing has been finalized yet. After 15 years of wait following the 2nd part release in 2004, Tarantino seemed quite confident about it saying “It is definitely in the cards and could very much still happen.” But it can’t be certain to make because of his self-imposed plan to stop at 10 movies. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was his ninth.
The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard
We couldn’t say The Hitman’s Bodyguard was critically a success having a poor good score at Rotten Tomatoes but it did a quite good job at box office. Also who can say no to the combined charisma of the tremendous duo of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. The film will also be featuring big names as Salma Hayek, Morgan Freeman. It is a good news for the fans of the first film that Patrick Hughes is dropping a sequel and the action comedy film will be releasing in August 2020.
